Global Firepower has announced its 2022 list, ranking the total aircraft fleet strength by country, from highest to lowest.
Out of 142 countries, the USA is at the top of the list with 13,247 military aircraft, Russia is second with 4173 military aircraft, and China is third with 3285 military aircraft.
The figures in the list, prepared according to the number of military aircraft and helicopters owned by the countries, include military training aircraft and military transport vehicles. Aircraft under development and ordered but not yet in the countries inventory are not included in the calculation.
At the bottom of the list are Somalia, Afghanistan, Iceland, Kosovo and Liberia, which do not have any military aircraft.
