French defense industry company makes a 16 million USD sale to Senegal

French defense company Nexter sold 8 LG1 105mm towed howitzers to Senegal, valued at an estimated $16 million.

This is the first direct sale between Senegal and the French company.

In a written statement from Nexter, it was stated that 8 105mm LG1 howitzers and the necessary ammunition were sold to the Senegalese army within the scope of the agreement that entered into effect on April 20.

In the statement, it was noted that the LG1 has a range of 17 kilometers and could fire 12 shots per minute.

Although the price of the sale was not specified in the statement, local media reported that Senegal paid around $16 million for the howitzers.
