US contracts with Sikorsky to Supply One UH-60M Black Hawk Helicopter to Jordan

Sikorsky Aircraft Corp., a division of Lockheed Martin, was awarded a $13.7 million contract modification to supply one UH-60M Black Hawk helicopter to Jordan.

The modification, (W58RGZ-17-C-0009)(P00152), was awarded under the U.S. Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program by the U.S. Army Contracting Command (ACC) at Redstone Arsenal (RSA), Alabama.

Work will be performed in Stratford, Connecticut, with an estimated completion date of Nov. 30, 2020.

The sale of one additional UH-60M Black Hawk helicopter to Jordan was approved by the U.S. State Department in July this year. Jordan already operates UH-60M helicopters and the new UH-60M will supplement Jordan’s existing Royal Squadron fleet of Black Hawk helicopters and be used to facilitate the movement of the Jordanian Royal Family.

UH-60M Black Hawk

The UH-60M Black Hawk is one of the newer variants of Sikorsky’s venerable Black Hawk helicopter family.

Compared to the earlier UH-60A and UH-60L variants, the UH-60M incorporates upgraded T700-GE-701D engines, improved wide chord rotor blades, and state of the art electronic instrumentation, flight controls and aircraft navigation control.

The Sikorsky Black Hawk is the primary medium-lift helicopter for the U.S. Army performing a wide range of
missions that encompass Air Assault, Medical Evacuation (MEDEVAC), Combat Search And Rescue (CSAR), Command and Control (C2), and VIP transport.
