Turkish artificial intelligence company RobotEye receives investment at a valuation of $12.5 million

RobotEye Artificial Intelligence Systems, which produces new generation smart surveillance and reconnaissance systems, received an investment from ARZ Portfolio, known for its investments in technology-based Turkish startup companies, with a valuation at 12.5 million dollars.

RobotEye has secured a strong resource to develop border security solutions with this investment which will provide RobotEye with the opportunity to meet the defense and security system demands from Western Europe, North Africa, Arabian Peninsula, Indo-Pacific countries with border security problems.

RobotEye responds to the needs in the intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance market with devices developed specifically for large and challenging terrains where traditional human-based border security systems do not work effectively and communication infrastructure is inadequate.

These innovative and intelligent systems offer low-cost and fully autonomous solutions thanks to specially developed, field-proven artificial intelligence algorithms. RobotEye's command and control software platform "Central" enhances the efficiency of existing defense systems by smartening old generation devices and reducing human dependency, and acts as a new generation decision support system.

RobotEye's patented main product, "Smart Photo Trap - Solo", combines satellite connectivity and on-device artificial intelligence on the edge, enabling critical crossing points to be taken under control.

Developed for tactical and special operations units, the "Eye" system creates situational awareness in the field, independent of any communication infrastructure. This system increases the security of special units operating in sensitive areas within and across borders against infiltration and sabotage threats.

"This investment from ARZ Portfolio will provide strong support to our company's technology and vision," said Dr. Ferit Çakıcı, RobotEye's General Manager. "With this financing, we will accelerate our growth, expand our technological capabilities and increase our capacity to respond to international security needs."

Murat Onuk, General Manager of ARZ Portfolio, made the following assessment regarding the investment:

"Defense industry initiatives that produce smart and artificial intelligence-based new generation solutions that do not require human intervention have started to appear all over the world. RobotEye, a Turkish startup operating in this field and filling the critical gap in border protection and surveillance with its artificial intelligence-supported smart surveillance systems, stands out. We are very pleased to support a globally innovative and visionary Turkish company like RobotEye."

Recent security problems in various parts of the world have increased the need for artificial intelligence-supported defense technologies and the importance of companies working in this field.

Companies such as Anduril Industries, Helsing, Shield AI, which attract attention with their unmanned and smart defense solutions, have already reached billion-dollar valuations. Athens-based Lambda Automata, which operates in the same field, recently attracted attention with an investment of 6 million euros from European Union countries.

These developments reveal the momentum gained by artificial intelligence-supported defense solutions worldwide.
