U.S. DoD signs a $2.56B contract for Microsoft 365 and related software

U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) announced that it has awarded a $2,560,000,000 contract to Insight Public Sector Inc. for Microsoft Office and related software.

DoD stated in a press release, Friday, that Insight Public Sector Inc. will provide commercially available perpetual licenses, software assurance, user-based subscription licenses to include Microsoft 365, Microsoft Azure, and client access licenses among others.

The software will be used by DoD and the Coast Guard and the ordering period of the contract will be for five years from June 1, 2021, through May 31, 2026.
