Unmanned Surface Vessel ULAQ gets new weapon system

An automatic weapon system was integrated into the Armed Unmanned Surface Vessel ULAQ.

CEO of ARES Shipyard, Utku Alanç, noted that they integrated a remote controlled 12.7 mm machine gun and said "Here, we again chose a domestic product. We configured our boats with a Koralp 12.7 millimeter weapon system."

Activities such as patrolling and port protection is expected to be easier and more effectively carried out thanks to the system.

In recent years the Turkish Defense Industry has been working overtime in producing domestic defense technologies and systems. The Armed Unmanned Surface Vessel, which was produced in Antalya to protect littoral waters, launched into sea last year is an example of this.
