US to send additional $400 million in military aid to Ukraine: American top diplomat

Washington is sending Ukraine an additional $400 million in military assistance to help it defend against Russian aggression, the US Secretary of State said Wednesday.

The new package includes additional arms, munitions and air defense equipment that will help Kyiv combat the Kremlin’s ”relentless attacks” on Ukraine’s critical energy infrastructure, Antony Blinken said in a statement.

The administration of Joe Biden has sent approximately $19.7 billion in weapons and other equipment to Ukraine since the war began Feb. 24, including the latest aid package — the 26th drawdown of US arms and equipment.

”We will continue to support Ukraine for as long as it takes, so it can continue to defend itself and be in the strongest possible position at the negotiating table when the time comes,” he said.
