For the first time, kamikaze ammunition was fired from the unmanned ground vehicle BARKAN-2

A new success has been achieved in the Turkish defense industry, combining unmanned ground vehicle and loitering ammunition capabilities.

Offering the unmanned autonomous ground vehicle BARKAN to the use of security forces, HAVELSAN continues its efforts to bring new capabilities to the vehicle.

During the year, ROKETSAN's BARKAN 1 guided mini missile METE was fired from the BARKAN 1 vehicle, while kamikaze ammunition was fired for the first time from BARKAN 2. BARKAN gained the distinction of being the first in its class with the integration of loitering munitions, also described as "kamikaze unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV)".

While carrying out tasks and activities in an area with a radius of 15 kilometers with BARKAN 2, the firing of the reconnaissance, surveillance and kamikaze ammunition of Gürbağ Defense was successfully carried out from the hydrogen-supported two-launcher system (one launcher laser-guided system, one launcher loitering ammunition) connected to a single tower that can be fired at the same time.

Firing this type of ammunition and multiple launchers from a single tower through an unmanned ground vehicle is considered a first in the international arena.

The roaming kamikaze ammunition fired can reach a range of 15 kilometers with an electric propulsion system, a flight altitude of 3000 meters, and a flight time of 40 minutes.
