Gendarmerie Vehicle Mounted Laser Weapon System entered the inventory

The Gendarmerie Vehicle Mounted National Laser System JARMOL, produced by TUBİTAK Bilgem and integrated into the Kirpi 1 military vehicle, entered the inventory of the Turkish Armed Forces (TAF).

The security forces' inventory of laser weapons is expanding. After ARMOL, Türkiye's first national laser system in accordance with military standards, JARMOL entered the inventory with the successful joint work of the defense industry ecosystem.

JARMOL, the 5kW Single Mode (SM) Laser System integrated into the Kirpi 1 military vehicle, is a unique laser defense system that is at the most advanced level in terms of performance and size among the systems developed by several countries with this technology.

In the tests, it was successful in neutralizing drones and fixed-wing UAVs, which have become an important threat to military units, especially in operation areas, by shooting them down with laser fire.

In the post made from the X account of the Gendarmerie, the following statements were included:

"Our Gendarmerie General Command, which always adds vehicles and materials produced with the latest technology to its inventory, continues to strengthen its power with JARMOL (Gendarmerie Vehicle Mounted Laser Weapon System) in the Turkish Century under the coordination of the Strategy and Foreign Relations Presidency."
