TURKSAT: Turkey's No.1 in data backup and storage

The award ceremony of “Informatics 500”, which is a survey about Turkey’s top 500 IT companies that develops solutions and products in this field, was held.

TURKSAT won the first prize in the “Data Backup and Storage Hardware of the Year Category.”

The results of the survey, which determines the predictions and characteristics of the market by ranking the top 500 companies in Turkey’s IT sector according to the general and specific categories, were announced during the award ceremony on Sept. 8.

Ahmet Savas, deputy general manager of IT Services at TURKSAT, received the award on behalf of the company.

This year, the award ceremony was held for the first time as 'phygital' -- in a hybrid format, both physically and digitally.

Speaking at the event, Digital Transformation Office head Dr. Ali Taha Koc stressed that it is necessary to canalize qualified new human resources to new business areas and to bring technology into the economy with innovative ideas.

“It has become imperative to exist as a force in the competitive digital economy of tomorrow, to keep up with technological development by building new business models on artificial intelligence, and to redefine workforce capabilities,” said Koc.

Delivering his speech, Dr. Omer Fatih Sayan, deputy Turkish transport and infrastructure minister, pointed out that “Informatics 500” survey is a source of motivation for many IT companies in Turkey.

“I congratulate all our companies that build the future of our country,” said Sayan. “You are the key to social welfare and economic efficiency.”

He expressed that information and communication technologies are changing and transforming every sector while the stronger the IT companies mean the stronger the other sectors.

“We have seen once again how important information and communication technologies are in ensuring the continuity of our lives, especially during the pandemic period,” said Sayan, adding:

“In this process, investments in the field of science continued to increase without slowing down.”
