CANiK, one of the world's leading light weapons manufacturers operating within the body of Samsun Yurt Savunma (SYS), delivered 750 units of Turkey's only qualified national anti-aircraft gun, CANiK M2 QCB, in a single delivery on time. Thus, the company accomplished the largest single delivery of 12.7 mm anti-aircraft guns in the History of the Republic.
The machine gun project PMT 12.7 contract was signed between Presidency of Defense Industries and SYS in 2018. Accordingly, the domestic and national 12.7 x 99 mm anti-aircraft CANiK M2 Quick Change Barrel (QCB), developed within the scope of the agreement, successfully passed all R&D, testing and qualification processes and entered the inventory in August 2022.
The CANiK M2 QCB is the only weapon in the world that has successfully completed the icing and contamination tests, and broke the world record with its 20 thousand shot barrel life.
CANiK M2 QCB completed all 23 different tests in American TOP and NATO standards without the need for repetitions, and achieved an unprecedented result in a 45-day period. Over 200,000 rounds were used during this qualification and testing process.
The CANiK M2 QCB, with its quick-change barrel feature, has been approved as Turkey's largest caliber machine gun.
