HAVELSAN’s homegrown A320 full flight simulator receives EASA certification

The Airbus A320 Full Flight Simulator (FFS), developed by HAVELSAN for flag carrier Turkish Airlines (THY), has received Level D certification from European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), company said in a press release Friday.

HAVELSAN, a leading simulator manufacturer in the Turkish defense industry, has once again demonstrated its expertise in this domain with the development.

This is one of three HAVELSAN Airbus A320 FFS that THY will operate as part of a contract for the procurement of a total of eleven A320 CEO NEOs and Boeing 737 Max FFS and FTD’s.

Mehmet Akif Nacar, General Manager of HAVELSAN, highlighted the significance of this certification as a testament to HAVELSAN's capability to deliver top-tier, Turkish-made pilot training equipment to the international airline and pilot training sectors.

“It symbolizes our shared dedication with Turkish Airlines to ensure that the simulator training infrastructure meets standards from around the globe,” he said.

In 2023, a number of HAVELSAN Boeing B737MAX full flight simulators achieved EASA Level D Certification and HAVELSAN supported THY through a training center partnership.

HAVELSAN has revealed its plans to bolster its engagements and assistance for airlines and simulator training centers starting from 2024.

The company aims to collaborate closely with airlines to facilitate the expansion of their simulator training center operations using adaptable approaches.

Moreover, HAVELSAN asserts its capacity to manufacture up to eight full flight simulators annually.

In a recent development, HAVELSAN has announced a collaboration agreement with the International Aviation Training Center (IFTC).
