MBDA supports Saudi Vision 2030 at WDS 2024

The multi-national European missile manufacturer MBDA says its joint venture with Saudi Arabian Military Industries (SAMI) “has been created in answer to Vision 2030.”

Vincent Place, General Director of MBDA Saudi Arabia told DefenseHere that it was the second time for MBDA in the World Defense Show and they were “delighted to be here” for “presenting almost all our portfolio in the air, sea, land and air defense.”

During WDS, MBDA exhibited its complex missiles systems in the domains of aerial combat, air defense, naval and land combat. The products MBDA exhibited in WDS included AKERON MP, ASTER B1 NT and MISTRAL 3.

Speaking positively about MBDA’s cooperation with Saudi authorities, Place said: “The customer and will be very happy to see what we are proposing. And it's of course, a long-term partnership we have with the with the Ministry of Defense, Ministry of National Guard and all the defense customers.”

In 2022, during the first edition of the World Defense Show, MBDA had signed an agreement with SAMI on missile maintenance. SAMI has been growing rapidly in recent years with several joint venture agreements it has signed with major defense such as Thales, L3Harris, Lockheed Martin and Boeing alongside MBDA.
