US approves sale of Engine and Sustainment for MH-60R Multi-Mission Helicopter to South Korea

The U.S. State Department decided to approve a possible sale to South Korea of Engines and Sustainment for MH-60R Multi-Mission Helicopters and related elements for an estimated cost of $350 million.

South Korea has requested to buy six T-700 GE 401C or 401D engines. Also included are spare engine containers; spare and repair parts; ferry support; publications and technical documentation; personnel training and training equipment; U.S. Government and contractor engineering, technical, and logistics support services; and other related elements of logistics and program support.

The estimated total cost of the sale is $350 million.

It is stated by the Department of Defense that this proposed sale will support the foreign policy goals and national security objectives of the United States by improving the security of a major ally that is a force for political stability and economic progress in the Indo-Pacific region.

The principal contractor will be the General Electric Company, located in Lynn, MA.
