According to reports by the Associated Press news agency and the Wall Street Journal, Senior US officials told reporters on Sunday that patriot air defense systems were sent Saudi Arabia, fulfilling the country's urgent request.
The delivery of the missiles comes as the kingdom was running low on Patriot missiles amid facing missile and drone attacks by Yemen’s Houthi rebels. The number of the missiles sent to Saudi Arabia was not given by the officials.
