Aselsan delivers first batch of the armored combat vehicles in modernization project

The delivery of the first vehicles in the Armored Combat Vehicles Modernization Project was made to the Turkish Land Forces Command with a ceremony held at Aselsan's Ankara Temelli facilities.

A contract was signed between the Defense Industry Agency and ASELSAN on 31 December 2019 for the Armored Combat Vehicles Modernization Project to meet the needs of the Land Forces Command.

The project aims to complete the modernization of 133 armored vehicles by 2024, which were produced by FNSS about 30 years ago.

The firepower, survivability and situational awareness capabilities of the modernized Armored Combat Vehicles (ZMAs) will be increased and the vehicles will be given navigational capabilities.

Renovation and improvement activities of ZMAs will be carried out under the main contractor ASELSAN, 25mm NEFER Weapon System, Laser Warning System, Close Range Surveillance System, Driver Vision System, Direction Finding and Navigation System, CBRN System, Commander, Gunner, Personnel and Driver Instrument Panels will be integrated; Air Conditioning System, Heating System, Fire Extinguishing and Explosion Suppression subsystems will be integrated into the platforms.
