Major Turkish gun manufacturer CANiK Arms showcased its Venom LR Cannon which is easily adaptable “on almost every platform on this planet” told Gençay Gençer, Head of Corporate Communication and Business Development at CANiK, in an interview with Defensehere.
Gençer explained that the 30x113mm Venom LR cannons are an upgrade to the British-made ADEN guns that are in service since 40 years and used many aircraft such as British Harrier jets.
“What makes this cannon unique,” Gençer said, is the “unique buffer and the mechanism” reducing the 24 kilonewton recoil force to 9 to 7 kilonewtons. Gençer pointed out that this trait of the cannon “means you easily adapt [the cannon] on almost every platform on this planet. Land platform, naval platform and also, you can easily use with the aerial platform.”

Detailing the specifications of Venom LR, Gençer said the gun’s revolver cannon mechanism “can easily adjust rate of fire from 200 per minute round to up to 1200 round permanent.”
Emphasizing versatility, Gençer asserted “whatever your concept is, Venom LR is exactly the good choice for you” and moved on to explain the variety of ways Venom LR can be used in different platforms:
“You can use against the kamikaze drones or during ammunition trade you can easily use with the aerial platform such as chain turret or under the wing. If you look at the naval platform, it can easily use Venom LR again on a different platform such as small repots and medium sized fast attack boats. And also you can easily use on the frigates or the offshore patrol vessels” Gençer said.
