The first deliveries of VENOM LR, a low-recoil 30x113 mm automatic medium caliber cannon, developed by AEI Systems, a company of Samsun Yurt Savunma (SYS) Group, which includes CANiK, will be made in August this year.
Using 30x113mm ammunition, the VENOM LR stands out with its reduced recoil compared to other 30mm ammunition cannons. The VENOM LR can be easily integrated into both lightweight and compact turret systems and remote-controlled or crew-served weapon stations. Thanks to its 30mm rounds compatible with new ammunition systems and technologies, it provides the firepower needed especially against air and naval drones, lightly armored/unarmored targets, and enemy troops behind cover. With this feature, the VENOM LR fills a capability gap between 12.7mm and higher caliber autocannons, making it an important part of the equipment of tactical ground vehicles. In naval platforms, it can fire high-explosive ammunition, creating a new layer in echelon defense systems by providing an effective defense against kamikaze boats and UAVs.
