Nexter's new member of the Multi-Mission Tactical UGV "PHOBOS"

Nexter, company of KNDS, announced the arrival of a new member in its "Multi-Mission Tactical UGV" range of products: PHOBOS.

The PHOBOS was initially developed by Sera Ingénierie (Sogeclair). It enables Nexter to reinforce its offer of highly reliable and ruggedized tactical UGV's by offering high mobility capabilities and important growth potentialities.

The company also made the following statement:

"PHOBOS opening new grounds for Robotics, we are thrived to announce the creation of a close partnership with Sera Ingénierie aiming at offering our dedicated “Robotization Kits”, autonomous bricks as well as our numerous mission kits (Next’Fire® secured communication link, 20mm fire power, logistics, road opening kits, etc.)."

Earlier this year, Nexter and Sogeclair, through its subsidiary Sera Ingénierie, had signed a partnership agreement to joinly develop land robots for the French Army. This partnership aimed to offer sovereign and state-of-the-art military robotics solutions.

PHOBOS

PHOBOS is designed around three strategic axes: mobility, autonomy and modular architecture. This multipurpose robotic carrier of less than two tons net weight, and with one-ton payload has been designed to accommodate all types of mission kits (tools, sensors, effectors). Its four independent wheels with reinforced suspension allow it to follow easily at high speed the tracks of armoured vehicles on any type of terrain. In addition, its thermal engine and its large fuel tank ensure the electrical and hydraulic supply of all embedded equipment. The PHOBOS is also be available in a hybrid or electric version.
