Rheinmetall wins contract from international automaker to deliver electric oil pumps

Rheinmetall has won a new order from an international automobile maker to supply several million electric oil pumps.

The order is worth a figure in the lower-three-digit million euro.

As recently as late last year, the Düsseldorf-based tech group booked an order from the same manufacturer for various electric oil pumps.

Rheinmetall shared the following statement on the order:

“In winning the contract, Rheinmetall once again outpaced the competition owing to the quality of its products and its profound expertise. Rheinmetall’s various electric oil pumps can work with innovative dielectric solutions which stand out for two main reasons: flexible installation in the electric drive module, and a design whose high component integration and single carrier solution make it extremely compact. Production of the initial order (issued last year) is set to commence in May 2024, and this recently awarded production uplift is set to commence in February 2025 and run for six years until December 2030. Rheinmetall is a Tier 1 supplier of the customer. The latest order deepens the Group’s footprint in the forward-looking market for electrification, especially with American original equipment manufacturers.

In the automotive sector and industry in general, Rheinmetall’s thermal and fluid management applications are synonymous with outstanding expertise. Its relevant business units develop solutions for the chief challenges facing the world of mobility, including downsizing, emission reduction and increased efficiency, coupled with simultaneous optimization of performance. Its comprehensive product portfolio encompasses diverse exhaust gas recirculation systems; electromotor-powered throttle, control and exhaust gas flaps; solenoid valves, actuators and valve trains; and oil, water and vacuum pumps for passenger cars and commercial vehicles as well as light- and heavy-duty non-automotive industrial applications.”
