As part of the SIPER Project led by the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB) and conducted in collaboration with Aselsan, Roketsan, and TUBITAK SAGE, the first firing test of the SIPER Product-2 System, which aims to fulfill Türkiye's requirement for a long-range regional air and missile defense system, has achieved success.
This test is designed to gather data under actual flight conditions, with the intention of utilizing this information in the subsequent phases of the project.
Haluk Görgün, President of SSB, expressed his thoughts regarding the project:
"The successful execution of the first firing test for the SIPER Product-2 took place at the Sinop Test Center. I extend my congratulations to ASELSAN, ROKETSAN, TUBITAK SAGE, and all the subcontractor companies that contributed to the project."
While the acceptance procedures for the Product-1 system continue as part of the SIPER Project, the development and testing phase for the System/Subsystem of Product-2 is simultaneously in progress. SIPER Product-2 shares the same ground systems (radars, command and control, missile launch system, communication systems) with Product-1, but the Product-2 missile is distinguished by its effectiveness at longer ranges and altitudes.
