US approves sale of MQ-9B Remotely Piloted Aircraft to India

The U.S. State Department has approved the sale of MQ-9B Remotely Piloted Aircraft and related equipment for an estimated cost of $3.99 billion.

According to the statement made by the U.S. State Department, the Government of India has requested to buy 31 MQ-9B Sky Guardian aircraft and 161 Embedded Global Positioning & Inertial Navigation Systems as well as other related equipment.

The estimated total cost of this order is $3.99 billion.

It is also stated by the State Department that this particular sale will not alter the basic military balance in the region.
