Endurance tests of Turksat 6A are completed

The endurance tests of Türkiye's first domestic and national communication satellite Türksat 6A have been completed while the population addressed by Türkiye's satellites will increase to over 5 billion with the start of the satellite's service.

According to the information obtained by AA correspondent, Türksat 6A, which is under construction within the scope of the "Türksat 6A National Communication Satellite Project Contract" signed between the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, Türksat and TÜBİTAK under the auspices of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, has reached the stage of completion.

In Türkiye's largest R&D project, the final stage of assembly, integration and testing has been reached at the Space Systems Assembly Integration and Test Center, which was brought to the country in cooperation with Türksat and TAI.

The production, integration and tests of the engineering model of the satellite to verify the design are completed in August 2022. Integration, system level tests and final alignment measurements are also completed on the flight model that will operate in orbit.

The satellite's launch process and endurance to the space environment were tested, while functional tests, thermal vacuum tests, sine and acoustic tests of the system level tests were successfully completed. By the end of March, CATR, mass properties measurement and final checks will be completed and transportation preparations for the launch will begin. The satellite, which will then be sent to the facilities of Space X, the launcher company, will be sent into space with the company's Falcon 9 type rocket at the end of June, according to the project schedule. Türksat 6A, which will provide redundancy for existing satellites, will also increase capacity.
