"Meteksan's Retinar Drone Detection Radar ready for IDEF 2023" says Meteksan's Tolga M. Çelik

Developed by Meteksan Defence, Retinar systems has been using by Turkish Armed Forces.

In an interview with Defensehere.com, Tolga M. Çelik, Meteksan Radar Systems Business Development Director, explained Meteksan's Retinar family's new member, Retinar FAR AD, a Drone Detection Radar.

"The product you see here is a Drone Detection Radar, namely Retinar FAR AD. We started to develop this system in 2018. We started to sale it in 2019. Actually it is in use by Turkish Armed Forces. There are many demands from abroad from our allied countries. We are now having some negotiations about this system and planning to export this system in near future." said Tolga M. Çelik.

100% Turkish product

"Actually, this system is a 100% Turkish product. We have developed and designed this system. It has the heritage of Retinar radar family both the hardware and the software. We are using Retinar family's infrastructure over here. We are increasing the capabilities of this system everyday." he highlighted.

Features of Retinar FAR AD

"Actually, this is mechanical rotating radar system. It has the range of 9.3 kilometers for drone tracks. Its coverage is 40 degrees in elevation. But, we are planning to increase these features. We are also planning to produce a new product which is electronically scanning system and also in use by on the move systems platforms." he explained.

Retinar FAR AD is ready for IDEF 2023

"We are planning to introduce our new product in 2023. The main occasion that we will introduce this system will be IDEF 2023." said Tolga M. Çelik, Meteksan Radar Systems Business Development Director.
