The first export of Multi-Rotor UAV for Tactical Surveillance and Reconnaissance TOGAN was realized

STM Savunma Teknolojileri Mühendislik ve Ticaret AŞ continues its success in the battlefield with its unique mini UAV platforms with its exports performance.

STM exported the rotary-wing strike UAV KARGU to nearly 10 countries in 3 continents. The company added Multi-Rotor UAV for Tactical Surveillance and Reconnaissance TOGAN to this success. TOGAN’s first export was made to a country in Africa. TOGAN, which is the scout member of STM’s tactical mini UAV family, was developed with the company’s own resources in line with the needs of the Turkish Armed Forces in the field. TOGAN was first introduced at the International Defense Industry Fair (IDEF 2017) in 2017. TOGAN, which has successfully passed numerous tests in the field and is constantly being developed entered the inventory of the Turkish security forces in 2022. TOGAN, which is used especially effectively in border security, has joined the list of Turkish defense industry products that have achieved export success this year. Negotiations are ongoing with more than one country for new exports for TOGAN. STM has reached the contract stage with other countries in Africa.

Provides uninterrupted and long-term surveillance

Designed to be used in tactical level reconnaissance, surveillance, and intelligence missions, TOGAN has a unique flight control system and mission planning software. With the ability to autonomously change/transfer tasks in the air, TOGAN offers uninterrupted and long-term surveillance to operators.

A single TOGAN platform can serve for 45 minutes at a range of 10 kilometers. TOGAN provides effective operation day and night with its day and infrared image systems with 30x optical zoom level. Thanks to its unique autopilot and computer vision software, the platform can autonomously track moving targets. TOGAN, which can perform target detection, recognition, and technical analysis thanks to advanced computer vision algorithms, creates convenience for the user in image valuation studies. With the task change feature, when the battery of one TOGAN falls below a certain level, the other can automatically take over the task and thus the user is offered uninterrupted use.

Joint operation with striking UAVs

Multi-Rotor UAS for Tactical Surveillance and Reconnaissance TOGAN, which can be easily carried and used by a single soldier in the field of operation, can also perform joint missions with other STM platforms through the developed flight control, mission planning and target detection systems. TOGAN platforms are designed to transmit real-time, automatic target information with STM's portable striking UAV systems KARGU, ALPAGU and BOYGA through their joint "ground control station software". TOGAN, which is also integrated into land vehicles, served with FNSS's unmanned ground vehicle SHADOW RIDER at a ceremony held in 2021. In the demonstration, TOGAN landed after taking off from the SHADOW RIDER and performing the imaging mission.
