The final firing test of the Remote-Controlled Weapon Systems successfully completed

The Remote-Controlled Weapon System (RCWS) developed by UNIROBOTICS, a member of Samsun Yurt Savunma group, has successfully completed its final firing test before the factory acceptance tests.

TRAKON TARGAN will be integrated into the Hisar class Offshore Patrol Vessel built by ASFAT under the HAVELSAN subcontractor.

TRAKON TARGAN will be on display for the first time at IDEF 2023, the International Defense Industry Fair to be held in Istanbul between 25-28 July.

CANiK shared the following statements on its Twitter account:

“TRAKON TARGAN, the national marine type RCWS to be integrated into the Offshore Patrol Vessel built by ASFAT under the HAVELSAN subcontractor of UNIROBOTICS, which is in the SYS group of companies of which CANiK is a part, has successfully completed its final firing tests in Konya-Karapınar before the factory acceptance tests.”

Remote-Controlled Weapon Systems TRAKON TARGAN

TRAKON TARGAN is specifically designed and developed for naval vessels as a close-in defense weapon system against air and surface targets. TRAKON TARGAN is mounted with 12.7x99mm HMG or 40mm automatic grenade launcher (MK-19).

TRAKON TARGAN has excellent surveillance, reconnaissance and target tracking capabilities without aiming the gun axis at the tracked object, via a high-tech electrooptical suit integrated on an independently stabilized gimbal.

The Turkish Ministry of Defense has selected TRAKON TARGAN as the close-in weapon system for the HISAR class Off-Shore Patrol Vessel (OPV) project being built for the Turkish Naval Forces.

TRAKON TARGAN is fully compatible with HAVELSAN’s new generation combat management system called “ADVENT”. It can be controlled directly via its own control console or via the combat management system (ADVENT).
