CET Composite produces Türkiye’s first domestic epoxy foam system

CET Composite and Epoxy Technology Inc. Produced Türkiye’s first domestic epoxy foam system. Epoxy foam systems can provide fuel savings for unmanned air vehicles and land vehicles.

Ömer Güven, the company’s founder, introduced the epoxy foams in his interview with Defenshere.com.

Pointing out that the system also provides lightness in vehicles, Güven said the following:

“I’d like to talk a little bit about the epoxy foams, which will be the most sensational products this year.

Besides increasing the structural strength, our epoxy foam systems also provide lightweight, have a very serious use in the composite and defense industry. Until now, different types of foams were provided and used from abroad but as of this year, we have started to produce systems where we can provide more fuel savings in unmanned air vehicles and land vehicles with domestic epoxy resin and domestic epoxy foams produced in Türkiye.

Since it’s a very new product range, we develop our products in different styles together with our customers.

Epoxy foam systems have a sandwich-like structure and are applied between laminated plates such as carbon fiber or glass fiber to increase the structural strength, to fill the volume and to provide mechanical strength at the same time.

On our way to introduce the systems abroad

In rotary wing systems here, propellers are used in systems with high mechanical strength that are lightened for use in engines from wind turbine blades or in the wings of unmanned air vehicles.

The research and development of epoxy foam systems continued for approximately one and a half year. Epoxy foams, which now have entered mass production, have become the new favorite of platform manufacturers, especially in aviation. In this regard, we started to meet the orders we received in the first quarter, and we will launch this product abroad from the second quarter of this year.”
